Well the trip is over...(until the next one!)
From Bergen I headed across to London for a few days to catch up with friends before flying home to Sydney. London was plus one degrees with snow falling and I arrived home to Sydney's hottest day on record - 45.8deg.C!!
Welcome home indeed!
back home and off to the beach before the heat set in

Now I have to go and build myself a house.

don't mention the whales
Arriving in Bergen meant the end of new adventures and was the perfect antidote for a creeping travel ennui. A chance to relax and unwind with good friends.
Having been to Bergen on at least 8 occasions there was little need for sightseeing. Instead I relaxed, ate, went for short walks, met some other Bergonian friends and generally took it easy.
Unfortunately the household was hit by the 'flu which laid us up for almost 10 days and meant New Years Eve was a very quiet affair.

quiet contemplation with flu

Bjørn, one of the friends I stayed with curated a show of contemporary chinese artist including Xu Bing and an installation by Ai Wei Wei (below)
